Sensfix collaborated with a client from the Ferrovial Group, specializing in wastewater treatment plants, to implement their Sens-Facility suite. This solution incorporated AI, sensors, and OCR technology to automate various procedures at an industrial wastewater treatment plant. By strategically placing sensors, a monitoring system was created to detect anomalies and monitor critical assets. OCR technology facilitated offline data acquisition and digitization of images and paper-based forms. The platform also provided real-time monitoring and data analysis for process optimization and continuous improvements.






The client is a part of the Ferrovial Group and operates in the field of engineering, construction, and operation and maintenance (O&M) of wastewater treatment plants (WWTP). The client site in question is an industrial wastewater treatment plant, where a skilled worker is responsible for managing its operations. The plant operates 24/7, with at least one person always present. Currently, several O&M procedures require automation, including lab data recording, motor health monitoring, chemical level recording, and the digitization of paper forms. To find a cost-effective and advanced solution, the client was interested in partnering with an advanced technology solution provider to implement their technology in a selected WWTP.

To enhance the data acquisition process, OCR technology was employed on a portable device capable of working in offline mode. This enabled automated retrieval of parameters from different displays and extraction of vital information from various documents, ensuring rapid and precise digitization of images and paper forms.
